Silliness, Part One

Things That I Monitor:
1. solar flares/daily earthquakes
2. hits on my website
3. global warming
4. my critical nutrient/water consumption
5. my email
6. the weather
7. the neighbor's exterior Christmas decorations
8. my favorite blogs
9. my children's behavior
10. the cracks on the ceilings in our house

Things That I Refuse To Monitor:
1. my mouth
2. my reality TV consumption
3. my book consumption (munch, munch, munch)
4. the status of Brittany and K-Fed's marriage
5. my caloric intake
6. my creative impulses
7. my weight (alright, I'm lying)
8. other peoples' opinions of me
9. my children's creative spirits
10. current fashion trends

That's a really cool list. I don't think there is anything silly about it.

It would be interesting to see how, if any, it changes in 6 months or a year.

I monitor the hits on my site, the blogs I like to read, my email accounts (multiple), my phone messages, and the shape/firmness of my ass as though it might change over night. What the hell?

I also refuse to monitor anything related to Brittany or Jennifer or Brad, etc etc or my calorie intake.

Yes, the shape of my ass is important to me, too, and it frequently gets monitored as well. I recently "found" a tape measure in a drawer and am going to start trying to quantify my ass's size (makes it a little more objective, ya know?). Considering that I refuse to monitor calories, however, makes this a moot point.
